Transparent Fees and Services
We believe clarity builds trust.
Below is an overview of our professional service fees so you can make informed decisions in advance.
Comprehensive Eye Exam — $160
A thorough evaluation of your vision and eye health with personalized recommendations based on your lifestyle and long-term needs.
Optomap Retinal Imaging — $39
An optional advanced retinal scan that provides a wide-field view of the retina and, in most cases, reduces the need for dilation.
Emergency/Urgent Eye Care — Starting at $75
Urgent visits may include eye pain, sudden vision changes, flashes or floaters, infection, or injury.
These visits are often eligible for medical insurance billing. Final fees vary based on complexity and diagnostic testing required.
Contact Lens Services
What Is a Contact Lens Fitting?
A contact lens fitting is different from a routine eye exam. Because contact lenses sit directly on the surface of your eyes, additional testing is required to ensure they fit properly, provide clear vision, and support long-term eye health.
During your contact lens fitting, we evaluate several important factors to determine the best lenses for your eyes, including:
- Corneal measurements to determine the correct lens size and shape
- Tear film and ocular surface health to ensure comfortable lens wear
- Trial lens evaluation to assess fit, vision, and comfort
- Prescription refinement for the clearest vision possible
- Follow-up care to confirm your lenses continue to fit and perform well
Because different types of contact lenses require different levels of evaluation and customization, fitting fees vary depending on the lens type and complexity of the prescription.
Contact Lens Fitting Fee Schedule

Our goal is to help you feel confident and successful from day one.

Toric (Astigmatism)

For patients who currently wear toric contact lenses for astigmatism. Additional evaluation ensures the lenses remain stable and properly aligned on the eye for clear and consistent vision.
Multifocal / Monovision
Fee: $90
For patients who currently wear multifocal or monovision contact lenses for both distance and near vision. These fittings may require additional testing or trial lenses to maintain the best visual balance.
Custom Contact Lenses (RGP, Scleral, and Specialty Lenses)
Fee Range: $85–$300
For patients who require custom or medically necessary contact lenses, including rigid gas permeable (RGP), scleral lenses, and other specialty lenses used for complex prescriptions or irregular corneas.
These fittings involve advanced measurements and may require multiple visits depending on the complexity of the lens design.
Contact lens fitting fees are separate from the comprehensive eye exam and may vary based on the type of lens and complexity of the fitting.
Dry Eye Services
Dry eye is a common but often misunderstood condition. Our team provides specialized testing and treatment options designed to identify the underlying cause of your symptoms and improve long-term eye comfort and stability.
Comprehensive Dry Eye Evaluation — $125
Dry eye is often more complex than it appears.
Our Comprehensive Dry Eye Evaluation is a specialized medical assessment designed to identify the underlying cause of irritation, burning, fluctuating vision, or excessive tearing.
This visit includes advanced diagnostic testing to evaluate tear-film stability, meibomian gland function, and ocular-surface health.
Many dry eye evaluations qualify for submission to medical insurance.

Using Insurance Is Optional
You do not need to use insurance in order to receive care at Verona Vision Care. Some patients choose to use available benefits. Others prefer not to, even if they have coverage.
Choosing to pay privately allows:
- Greater flexibility in services
- Recommendations based solely on clinical judgment
- Access to advanced technology without plan restrictions
- A relationship-based experience focused on long-term outcomes
Insurance is simply one payment method, not a requirement for care.
Vision Plans
Vision plans are typically designed for routine eye care, such as glasses prescriptions and frame allowances.
In-Network Vision Plans
In-Network Vision Plans
- EyeMed Vision Care
- Superior Vision
- Davis Vision
- Spectera
- DeltaVision
- MetLife
- NVA (National Vision Administrators)
Benefits are applied at the time of service according to your specific plan.
Open Access Vision Plans
VSP Vision Care (Starting May 1, 2026, before then we are In-Network)
What does Open Access mean?
Open access means you can still receive care in our office and use your benefits, even though we are not contracted as an in-network provider for that plan.
We will collect payment at the time of service and help you submit the necessary documentation and receipts to your plan for direct reimbursement according to your policy’s out-of-network benefits.
If your plan is not listed above, you may still have out-of-network benefits. Our team is happy to assist you.
Why Your Exam May Be Billed to Medical Insurance
Not every eye exam is considered routine.
If your visit involves a medical concern, such as eye discomfort, redness, infection, dry eye, glaucoma, macular degeneration, cataracts, diabetes-related changes, or other health conditions, your exam may be billed to your medical insurance rather than your vision plan.
Vision plans are designed to cover routine exams for glasses and contact lens prescriptions.
Medical insurance covers the diagnosis and management of eye health conditions.
The insurance submitted is determined by the reason for your visit and the doctor’s clinical findings.
Medical Insurance
Medical insurance applies when your visit involves the health of your eyes, not simply updating a glasses prescription.
Examples include:
- Dry eye treatment
- Glaucoma monitoring
- Cataracts
- Macular degeneration
- Diabetic eye exams
- Eye infections or injuries
- Sudden vision changes
Medical insurance applies when your visit involves the health of your eyes, rather than simply updating a glasses or contact lens prescription.
We accept a wide range of medical insurance plans. Your insurance company is the best resource for specific information about your coverage, copays, and deductibles. Prior to your visit, our team will verify your benefits to the best of our ability so we can help you understand what to expect.
Please note: Verona Vision Care is in-network with Quartz, but we are not in-network with GHC or Dean Health Plan HMO plans.
Many of our patients choose to receive care outside of their insurance network to ensure they receive the time, attention, and experience they deserve. If you have any questions, feel free to email us at [email protected] or give us a call or text before your visit at 608-848-5168.
