Contacts Lenses

At Verona Vision Care, Dr. Hunt and Dr. Wilson fit all types of contact lenses from soft contact lenses to gas permeable lenses. They use all of the major manufacturers and some of the lesser known contact lenses to get the right fit and vision for your needs.

One Day Disposable Contact Lenses

These lenses are worn for a day and then disposed. They require very little care or solutions and are therefore, the most convenient. These are great for children and those who want to wear contact lenses part time for certain activities. They are also available in a limited number of eye changing colors.

Two Week Disposable Contact Lenses

These lenses are worn for the day and removed at night, placed into solution after cleaning and worn for 14 days before switching to a fresh pair. These are great for everyday use or for those wearing lenses over 50% of the time. These are also available in a wide variety of colors to change your look.

One Month Disposable Contact Lenses

Besides one day lenses, this type of lens is probably the next convenient. Lenses are worn for 30 days, removed each night, placed into solution after cleaning and switched out every month. It's easy to remember to change your contacts when the month changes.

Extended Wear Contact Lenses

Most of the new lenses on the market today are made out of silicone which allows a lot more oxygen to the eye than the older materials. Therefore, many of the newer contact lenses have some availability for overnight wear. It is important to remember that even though the lenses have that approval, not all patients can tolerate that wearing schedule and if any redness or irritation occurs the lens needs to be taken out immediately.

Disposable Contact Lenses

Disposable lenses are going to be the healthiest option in soft contact lens wear, but if a soft contact lens is needed in a prescription that is not in a disposable, another type of wearing schedule may be needed such as quarterly replacement or yearly replacement.

Gas Permeable Lenses

These work great for high prescriptions and also those with a moderate to high amount of astigmatism. They provide much clearer vision in those prescriptions than soft contact lenses. These lenses are worn for at least a year.

Drs. Hunt and Wilson will find the lens that fits with the shape of your eye and that will be the healthiest and most comfortable for you. All contact lens evaluations include follow up visits, if needed, until the lens works for you.

Understanding Your Contact Lens Professional Fees

Contact lens professional fees are for the extra testing and time taken by the staff and doctor each year to evaluate your contact lenses. Additional tests are done to make sure your eyes are healthy, you are seeing as well as possible and the lenses fit properly. New technology in contact lenses will be discussed as it pertains to your wearing schedule and prescription.

We Fit the Lenses To Your Eyes

Dr. Tami Hunt and Dr. Emmylou Wilson fit contact lenses that correct for astigmatism, multifocal lenses and multifocal astigmatism lenses. There are many improvements in contact lenses in the past 5 years to make them more comfortable.
